Running rich

Im working on a 91 190e 2.6. It is running extremely rich, Someone had replaced the fuel pump then it sit for about two years. When I got it the gas was old, so I dumped the tank, It had a weak spark so I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and checked the coil. It runs much better but still rich.. sputters as if it has a miss, if I give it full throttle it will smooth out untill the fuel catches up then begin to sputter again. Smokes bad during running and smells strongly of fuel. any suggestions?

Thanks, Ryan

Have you checked the free movement of the air flow flap. It should be smooth and firm all the way to fully open.

The O2 needs checked for around 0.0460 to 0.750 vdc at 3000rpm warm.
The FPR fuel pressure regulator might have gone bad too after sitting so long and the cold start injector may be stuck/open.( Blue Bosch connector.)

Tried adjusting the CO screw on the distributor head ?

.PS...Welcome to the MBSF...Ryan.
