Just bought a 560SL. Everything checked out clean including carfax and DMV check. The odometer works but the trip meter doesnt?? I am stumped. I am thinking there is some rod loose or broke back there. Is it even worh it to get the trip meter working again? I guess I am lucky that the odometer is correct.

There is a simple mechanism that is easy to deal with when the speedo is out. It's up to you whether you want to pursue it.

I would be grateful that the odometer works considering many of the posts, and my own experience with older MB odos.

Easy to take apart and have a look. Might not be too bad to fix it. Do a search, there are lots of posts on the subject.
