1992 300E Blower not working

I know a lot of threads have been posted for this problem, but I can't find the answer for this. It started as the blower over the past couple of years has been blowing less until it finally failed. I bought a climate control unit a while back from someone parting out his 300E and finally installed it but it did not make a difference. When you press the buttons, you can tell it switches on, but does not blow air. The fuses are fine and the additional one located outside of the fuse box is also intact. I guess what I would like to do now is hook the blower directly to the battery to see if it operates? If this is a good idea how do I do it. Do you just hook up two wires to the motor and check, or do you have to unhook the other wires first? If it does work, is it the regulator? Even before I attempt all of that work of removing the wiper arm assembly, could it be a relay instead? If so, how do you check the relay?

I have found a lot of great help on other projects! Thanks for everything!
