Followed the directions in this string and cannot get the retaining ring to turn CCW--or CW for that matter. Even gently tried to use an adjustable plier.

Done--read someplace else to use WD40 to loosen the retaining ring and it worked! Replaced both bulbs with brighter Sylvania's at Auto Zone for 24.95.

Take that bulb back for warranty!

If you are using the standard bulb then I would replace it with the like part number so the brightness will be the same from left to right.
I would buy two bulbs as the other side is probably on it's way out IF they are the same age.
Just my 1.7 cents worth.
