Unfortunately I don't have the history as I purchased this car used in the past year. It replaced my wife's '89 260E of 12 years, and that went to my 18 year old. Since this is her daily driver, and she really likes the car, I want to get this resolved. I think I will contact the dealer in Indiana that serviced the car for the previous owner and see if they can provide a service history. I'll also follow your guys advice and see if they will check the vehicle as mentioned. Thanks for your help, and I'll post the findings.

What about 722.9 fluid in a 722.6 that has 120k on it? The fluid has been drained 4 qts at at a time for variosu trans diags since 60k,so it has essentially had a full change, but this will be the first full change at once. The trans pan seal is pretty new. Do I need to worry about leaks, etc? My service guy says he would be careful here, as the trans has miles on it.
