Will that light go out?

I am readying my wallet to replace the Mass Airflow Sensor, that apparently is causing the surging idling and poor gas mileage. But will the replacement of this unit also make my Check Engine light go out? Or, do I need to have that reset?

Thatnks for the help!
Troy J.

I forget but it's easy to erase it yourself. Based on your name you must have a 94/95 124 chassis with 104 motor which means you have a 16 pin diagnostic connector with a built-in pushbutton/LED CE light code reader, near the battery. You can erase DM module codes yourself with the pushbutton. Or you can build Arthur Dalton's code reader and check all the codes. Do a search and you will find all kinds of information. Pull the codes now and you can confirm that you have a bad MAF.
