300SDL Rear Vent blows only cold air
Re: 1987 MB 300SDL, 206K miles.
The cars's climate control works well except for the vent between the front seats that blows into the rear seat area. It blows only cold air! The one back and under the arm rest. The floor vents blow hot air to the rear foot wells. Anyone have a GFI on how to diaganose and fix this? Thanks, NRK Last edited by nrkmann; 02-19-2006 at 11:49 PM. Reason: gramatical errors |

If you have the ACC system (which you probably do being in the US) it is functioning completely normally, no heat comes out of the rear center vent in cars with the ACC.

First, thanks for the replies.
Second, OK, no hot air from the center vent. Should the center vent blow all the time? It is 20 degrees outside the heat is on and the center vent is blowing cold. How is it turned off? Regards, NRK |

There is a slide control directly underneath the vent

Yep thats normal, turn it off. The slide control above it will shut it off.
