1990 4-matic help

ok i did something today that i never do, i paid someone to change my oil. i cant find the time between bad weather and putting in alot of hours at work. so now ill get on with my problem. i drove the car over to the shop and everything was fine, while i was paying for it one of the guys asked me what the test switch was for (never really thinking anything about it.) once i got in the car and started towards home i noticed that it was shifting really hard almost like it had a shift kit. it did the same thing all the way home. as soon as i get home i called over there and told them who i was and asked to talk to the guy that was working on the car and he told me that the rag got caught on it. the receipt shows everything that they did was adjusted the tire pressure and washer fluid, and did not add any transmission fluid since it was already full. does anyone have any idea what is going on? is there some kind of reset for the 4-matic if the switch is moved? please help!! thanks
