Tips requested on Ignition Timing adjustment (380SE)

I had to remove the distributor in my 1984 380SE to replace the waterpump.

Now I need to adjust the ignition timig and would really appreciate instructions on how to do that.

How many degrees does each mark on the vibration damper represent ? Do I remove the vacuum advane in the distributor while adjusting ? What are the specs for a 1984 380SE - how many degrees of advance.

Amit

yes you disconnect and plug the vaccuum hose.
i heard it was supposed to be 5btdc, if you are at 5000 feet (altitude) then make it tdc, add one degree per thousand feet.
Please correct me if I am wrong?
