At first my 1998 C43 (AMG V8 C class) would not start after it was turned off, one needed to wait 30 minutes or more in order to start the engine, the engine would crank but not start. Now it has progressed to cutting out if car has been driven for 15 minutes or mor and is at idle. Again if one waits half an hour or more then it will start again. Once running the cars runs perfect, the problem is getting it started and keeping it going when at idle.
Any thoughts? Thanks for any help. Mgomez Last edited by mgomez; 02-25-2006 at 01:52 AM. |

Sounds like a faulty crankshaft angle sensor to me

Get the car hooked onto an SDS and read the codes and adaptation values. That should give you a very good idea of what's going on before you shotgun parts at it. However, I agree that that symptom is pointing toward a crank position sensor, which is a common failure on M112 V-6 and M113 V-8 engines.
