K1 kit install in 722.3 tranny...tools, tips?
Got the K1 spring kit from FastLane to fix the 2-3 shift flare that has recently manifested on my W124's tranny.
I'm ready to do the install this week. I read some good threads including pics on the procedure, but I'm still apprehensive as tranny fixes are uncharted territory for me. Here are some of my concerns: How much time does it take to do this? I have 7 quarts of Castrol Dextron III to refill when I'm done (owner's manual says 6.6). Is refilling performed at the dipstick or somewhere else? Does the pan need to be removed to access the valve body that contains the spring assembly? Thanks in advance for any help...anyone else score points with the spouse when you can tackle these types of repairs? ![]()
