300 E

Considering the purchase of a 300 E with 51,000 miles. It is a 1993 with the 2.8 straight 6. Is this a twin cam design? I believe it to be the first year for this engine, what is the scoop? Thanks, BDBENZ

Yes, it is a twin cam. It is not the first year of the twin cam but it is the first year of the HFM engine management system that does have some troubles - wiring harness, engine throttle actuator, head gaskets, etc. Not a bad engine but it does have several fairly serious design problems.
