1999 E320 Trouble starting

I am having trouble with my Merz
I can run around all day and then go to class for about 3 hours and
when I want to start the car, it won't! it has that sound that it wants to start but it doesn't-I can leave it overnigh, come back the next day and it will start again!-I have had the fuel pump and fuel filter changed and still have the same problem.
it has a mileage at bout 66 thousand miles. I have not had the spark plugs changes-think that could be it?

Crankshaft position sensor, located on the left (drivers side) of the bellhousing on the transmission. When it gets warm, it builds up high resistance, at that point, the ignition does not know where the crank shaft is in relation to the camshafts.

Replace it.

You are also past due for an air filter and spark plugs.

Where are you located? Check the coverage area on our website, if you reside within it, book an appointment a field technician will come out.

Ok. Well, from what you stated, thats your problem. Had a gentlemen contact me from Florida, had a 01 clk 320, every morning, about 1 mile from his house, the vehicle would shut down, then restart shortly there after.

Have fun...
