CLK430 not "cruising"

I set the cruise at 75 and when I go up a hill and the engine goes to increase RPM's to keep me at 75 the cruise kicks off....what does that mean??

Many times that indicates that the front tires have JUST a bit larger dia than the rear ones.

That could be due to the fact that I just put new tires on the front...and they weren't the same brand as the rear tires. The front tires wore out real quick due to bad ball joints and an alignment issue. I'll get the same brand rear tires when they wear out and see if the problem goes away...THANKS.
