weird connector ("Zhuden") under w124 backseat-what is it for?
Exploring my 87 300e for electrical issues, I pulled the back seat. Under the cushion, on the left (driver's) side, I saw a whitish plastic clasp, like the kind used to latch a child's carseat. It held three (3) wires , which were wrapped in the oem type black tape. It was not connected to anything, and I didn't see any connector for it. It was stamped with the name "Zhuden". Anyone know what this is for?

It was for the tow sensor- these were a problem- people don't like the alarm going off for no reason. The fix was to remove it..although usually, it was left in and just unplugged.

Thanks for your help-that's one less thing to be concerned about.
