W140 Glove Box Won't Open

I have a 94' S500. the botton for the glove box stopped working. I suspect a broken or stretched cable. Is there a secret to get into the glove box so I can investigate? Can I take the botton off and maybe pull the cable? I don't really want to pry on the door or button, until I know what I'm doing.

Thanx
Eric

After you remove the tumbler, remove a screw, then that button thing comes out and it should have an insulated cable in the back. Hold the cover and pull the cable itself and it should open, there's an adjustment and that's probably your problem. Good luck and have patience, that cylinder sucks to work with.
