E430 4-Matic Shocks W210
Hello All:
Is the front shock replacement for a 4-Matic W210 that much more labor-intensive than a non 4-Matic ? The dealer charged me $782 for ONE front shock replacment, of which $450+ was for labor alone (4 hours). Does this sound right ? Thx, Oleh |

labor cost
I have a E320 4matic and I was given an estimate of 3 hours for the front shocks for $300.00 labor in VA.

Yeah, the 210 4-M shocks are a real nightmare to replace.

I had my Indy replace front struts and rear shocks on my 2003 Jaguar X type all wheel drive today. The rear shocks took 15 minutes each, the left front took 60 minutes, the right front 40 minutes. I was right there, (he is a good friend), and I helped a little and probably slowed him down a little. He had to pull the lower ball joint to get the necessary working space to remove the strut. Pulling the ball joints was very difficult! It was his first time on an AWD Jaguar. Computer alignment took 45 minutes. I furnished the parts, total charge was $198.00
