What temp should an m110 run at?

The heat gauge on my 280ce eurospec never goes above the 1/3 point. Is that normal? Could the thermostat be stuck open? Where is the thermostat?

what temp is indicated?

the stat is housed in the stat housing. follow the top radiator hose back to the engine. it will attach to the thermostat housing.

it should run at about 80 to 82 centigrade, which i believe is about 175 faranheit.

if you decide to change the stat, be very careful with the t stat housing bolts. they are steel threaded into aluminum and like to corrode and stick. you need to soak them good with pb blaster and then very carefully wiggle them back and forth til they come out.

good luck

Also make sure the temp indication is accurrate. I spent way too much time going after a low temp problem (don't ask) when all alone it was a bad temp sending unit.

I would push on it a little and the temp would go to normal.
