hi this is my first time on ere and all i want to know were the fuel pump relay is on a 1996 e230
have spoken to mercs and they keep saying diff places and still can not see it thanks matt |

I have no idea, but good guess would be that rather than a stand alone relay, it is buried in another component. I know that in later W124's it's part of the MAS Relay.

On the USA petrol cars that relay is part of the K40 relay module.
That relay is in the computer box.... WHAT problem is the car having?? rare failure!

1996 USA cars have DAS (driver auth system) that reads info from the infra-red remote that locks & unlocks the car. That can cause the problem.
ALSO if the crank sensor doesn't generate a signal then the fuel computer won't activate the relay to allow the fuel pump to run.

HI Matt
The fuel pump relay is in the fuse box. It is in the back half of the box so you will have to take off more then just the lid. It's green in color an has a 30amp fuse in the top of it. I've seen a few cause no starts, just had one last week. Good luck. fasthair |
