My 420 has a factory alarm! The p.o installed an aftermarket system[i quess the factory alarm malfuntioned].If i did away with the alarm, will the problem go away? I am asuming you think the problem is in the alarm.

If you disconnect the non-factory alarm, and your problem persists, then I think it would be safe to say that the problem is not related to the non-factory alarm.

Try it! - what have you got to loose?

The doors are intended to lock again after about 10-15 secs unless a door is opened as a safeguard against unlocking accidentally by pressing on the keypad.

This problem just started. The doors would stay open until i pressed the close button on the remote. What controls the close time of the doors, that could be the problem.
