Brake light stays on
Pedel feels fine, although a bit soft (but not spongey) Brake fluid is filled to the top, and the level float switchs seem to be working. It's getting Vaccuum to the booster.
It is NOT the pad indicator, this is a w126 car with two seperate lights. Rear brakes were just redone (new rotors, pads, calipers and flex hoses) and bled properly.

Its the low brake fluid light? Its either a faulty switch or a faulty wire. Break out hte wiring diagram and a meter and start testing.

The red light is also the parking brake light. Maybe when the rears were done, the parking brake was messed with?

Well, sounds like you took the car to a Midas, bummer for you. Did you know they make all the money on parts. They told you haw bad those rear calipers where, how they could not "reset" the caliper by hand.
Why don't you try the parking brake. Put your foot under the pedal while it is not engaged. If it flickers or goes off, sounds like they adjusted something they should not have. FYI; Rear brakes have no pad indicator. Or, you could have air in the line, and the differential valve is indicating that. |

Which light is it? My W126 has three, low brake fluid, worn front brakes, or parking brake engaged. First determine what light is on and then we will be able to tell you how to make it go off.

W126 Tips...
..is a thread I saw somewhere (that other forum I think) that describes the correct fix of a cleaning and adjustment of the cable "guide" underneath.
It also has the quick fix solution - large rubber band from the parking brake pedal to the underside of the dash. My 560 has the problem currently; just haven't taken the time to get after it - work under the 560 when its top down weather for the SL? ![]() NOT. Regards, Kevin
