Need help ASAP on R16/1 and vacuum advance

Guys,
I've read all threads on the topics above.
I need to located them and can't?

I have a 1992 190E 2.6. The R16 is suppose to be around the intake manifold but I still can't find it? Others have suggested around the battery and the fuse box. Still nothing found

As far as the vacuum advance is that the line from the intake manifold to the ignition module? I believe the ignition module is attached to the fender and has 4 round plugs attached to it?

Pictures would be nice since they do say 1000 words.

I need to located them to pass my smog. Help

thanks,
joseph

R16/1 Resistor

What kind of Mercedes do you have? If it's a 190E go to Rik Johnson's site at www.2phast.com and click on the pic of the green 190E, then on "Engine Performance Mods" on the left hand side.

I'm trying to find it on my 1992 400E, since we have 94 octane gas up here in Canada : )

It is okay I found the R16. It was hiding behind the thick black wire in the battery compartment. I didn't know it was there until I lifted the wire.

thanks,
Joseph

Way to go! I was going to send you a picture of where it is ..just got my 'Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (W124 & W201)" by M-B off Ebay today, has pics of location of all components!!! Well worth the $76 I paid for it (410 pages!)

If you need to find anything else let me know!

Eric

Yes, the vacuum advance. Although others have said the 87 and up the eliminated the vacuum advance and replaced it with ECU?

Are those pics color or black and white like the Haynes manual?

thanks again,
Joseph
