126 interior door removal

i have a 300sdl and want to work on the door lock, i have been told you have to know the sequence of how to remove the interior of door
i would appreciate any knowledge of this. thankyou all ahead of time

Unscrew the arm rest. Remove the plastic guard from behind the door handle. Remove the decorative trim over the cone lock. Take out the window switch and the seat controls. Pop off the door panel and remove any attached wires.

warren, are there any secrets to removing plastic quard and door lock trim, any chance i might break a clip if i pull in wrong direction

Pull the door handle and pry the plastic out with a screwdriver. The screw is behind it.

There is always a possibility that the plastic clips will break. It's an old car. Get some at the dealer.

The door panel has clips at the top that will break on the 126, unless you LIFT the panel up. Check the search for an in depth discussion.
