...what model???

There are several different systems...
Up to late 80's, beginning 90's mercedes had an electrical right side and manual left side mirror.
After that mercedes had both side mirrors electric adjustable. At first mercedes had a 1 switch, 2 power mirror system (both mirrors have a motor to answer your question) and the later models have a combined switch (panel), additional door mounted relays and power mirror system.

I think you have one of early 90's with the separate switch...
What do you mean with the passenger side is the one who is moving...is that the case when the switch is set on driver side?

greetingz,

All our Mb's have an electronic switch for the passenger side only. The driver's side is controlled manually with a handle that is quite visible.

Has the 93 190 electronics for both sides??

Ronald - No. We don't have that switch.

I think it could either be your motor as you suggested, or the connecting point ON the switch is not contacting. However, since you have changed the switch, its most likely the motor - OR wiring to that point. You mean, it just stopped working one fine day?

The drawing of a man is the window lock?? It prevents the back windows from being rolled down. What country are you in? Are you sure you are talking about the right switch?

BTW YMSin, in the US, we all get power mirrors on BOTH sides.

Ronald,

The switch with the small guy on it, is to block the rear windows from opening (child protection). I don't think that the 190s ever had a power mirror on driver's side. You should have a handle on the inside. It's very hard to miss.

Lucky you, David.

Even the Hondas have more up-market functions for the US models as compared to the ASEAN models.

Wonder why?

Maybe its because the Asians aren't a fussy and demanding lot? That has got to change somehow.

AH,

The W201 190's only had power right side mirror and manual left side mirror. It is possible to add the later W124 E class left and right power side mirrors to the W201, but originally the W201 never came with a power left side mirror.

The switch for changing the adjustable mirror is combined in the mirror adjust button or just above the mirror adjust button (in the same button-square) on all MB models.
The switch ronald mentioned is probably located between his left power window buttons...

David,
we all get power mirrors on BOTH sides...not in the W201...

greetingz,

Just for reference, my 83 300D Turbo had a remote passenger side mirror adjusting switch located on the center console just in front of the speaker (front/rear) switch. But the drivers side was manually operated. My current 82 model has both mirrors mannually operated. I do miss the remote switch for the passenger side, but hey, I just deal with it because it's a Mercedes. My biggest problem is that I cannot fully adjust the drivers side mirror.. stuck/hard to push etc... so I still have a "blind spot" on that side and have to turn my head to make sure no one is next to me in the other lane etc.
