PS fluid change Q

In order to get most of the old fluid out the pump will be running close to dry while the steering is turned side to side w/ motor running and hose disconnected. Will this hurt the pump?
Do I need to do a fill flush fill like the radiator coolant or is 1 drain fill cycle the accepted procedure?

Best to have 2 people involved.

One inside turning the wheel and another under the hood pouring in new fluid as the cycled fluid is exiting the system. Have a couple of qts. ready to go before you start.
