Question Funny

Why can I not put the SMILIES in the subject line?
Why do you not have the vehicles listed by model & year?
It seems to me this is very confusing.
A person should be able to put in their model & year & it would take them to that site for questions & answers.
I can see how fast a shop would work if they just had one book that said MERCEDES.
Here is some tips you may like.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I don't know if this works or not, but it does seem to be a built in burglar alarm. Might want to try it some night, see if it wakes the neighbors.

HOME INVASION

Hope you don't need to use this!! Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until
either you turn it off or the car battery dies.
This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Makes sense to me... I like free stuff that works and makes sense!

The forum is broke down into major groups rather than individual models due to the fact that so many parts/engines/components/repairs/problems are shared across the line-up. With all the different model designations MB has had in the past the board would an absolute mess.

If, for example, you were have a problem with your alarm you could try searching "alarm problem" or "alarm" anf the search function should find every post with those words. Often some posters will actually list which year and model the have in the subject line and should be putting that info into their post so those who can help know which model they are discussing.

This is an internet forum. Not some automated response site When people want answers to their questions, they usually make specific topics on that question, or do a search to see if it's been answered before. If you're having problems with, say, a 560SEL stalling, you can type "560SEL stalling" in the search box and immediatley find threads about this issue. Or you can post a new topic saying "'89 560SEL stalling" and then go into further detail in it.

Not only did Mercedes have MANY different models over the years, but many of them shared common engines, transmissions, and chassis. Did you know that a 1985 300SD - with a diesel engine - had the same chassis (126) as a 1983 380SEL... and a 1991 560SEL? So if a window regulator is broken on someone's car, they can ask about 126 window regulator replacement and have their questions answered by any of the hundreds (thousands?) of people on these forums who own 126-chassis cars - such as Mike!

I think Benzworld.org uses indexing by chassis designation, But this forum is the best.

As a frequent visitor to both, I'd have to say that the two forums have differing primary purposes and their respective set-ups reflect that.

Benzworld is more of an enthusiast's site while this site is more technical and functionally oriented. Love them both, and many of the contributors have dual registration.
