Technical questions for a 190d 2.2

Hi all,

My questions are in regards to rebuilding a 2.2 diesel in a 190d. First off, Is this a sleeved block? What kind of tools / manuals will I need to procure? Im a diesel/gasoline mechanic and have considerable experience in Perkins, Detroit and such. I have never worked a Mercedes diesel and any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,
WG

first get a book on it.

second, it is very similar to other diesels in many ways so it will look familiar to you in many ways.

third mercedes often have their own way of doing things. dont fight it. just do it rhe way they say to. you wont regret it. they always have a good reason even if it isnt apparent.

fourth. i am not sure if that one is sleeved or not. most of them are. a few are not. (mercedes diesels i mean).

welcome to the world of benzes and benz diesels.

Thank you for the help. Is there a website that sells spec manuals?
