Exactly how many oz. of R134a did you put in there? It is possible for a weak spot in the condensor to blow if you overcharge and the high side pressure goes too high. I would tend to think that the binary switch, which for your car is calibrated to cut the compressor at around 435, would do so long before the condensor blows. But then again, depending on where you live or just the age of the condensor, there could be some pretty weak spots that would blow long before 435 is ever reached.
My A/C capacity guide lists 35 oz. of R12 for your car. which does in fact break down to 2.18 pounds. Calculating 80% charge for R134a, you should have put in 28 oz. or about 2 1/3 cans (if they are 12 oz. cans). So either way, 2.2 cans of R134a would be sufficient, and maybe just 1 oz. of oil to replace what was lost in the evap. There should be no more than 7 to 8 oz. of oil total in your system.
