I have been wrestling with this problem in my 96 S500 where it stalls at idle, hesitates and surges all the time. I replaced plugs and fuel filter in hopes that it would go away. To no avail.
Today, I thing I may have solved the problem but want a back up oppinion before I shell out the money for the part...
I disconnected the MAF and the car has stopped stalling and runs like a champ!!!
My question is... is this a pretty good indicator that the MAF is bad??? Also can I drive the car with it disconnected until I get a new one without harming anything??
