I parked my car in a parking lot in Los Angeles late last night. When I came back my 300E had its rear driver side door key scraped and kicked. The paint is completely damaged, the side protective stripe broken and the door slightly dented. The hoodlums really took their personal problems and their sense of worthless and inferiority out on my poor car. I am so sad, the car was in pristine condition, I am planning to take it to a body shop tommorow for an estimate. I am afraid though that no matter haow mush they tried to match the factory color it will still be different than the rest of the car. What a shame.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Some people have such low self esteem that they have to strike out at others to feel important. Most of us work really hard to afford something as nice as a Mercedes. It only takes a few seconds for some low-life to ruin a prized possession. Kinda makes you wish you could have been in the bushes with a baseball bat at the time to hit a few fly balls.

I had to add my 2 cents. Here in Maryland there was a shop that was burgularized on a regular basis, so the owners decided to hide out in the shop and guess what? The idiot robbers came back again, needless to say not all of the robbers came out alive. The states attorney is now still deciding whether or not to charge the owners of the shop with murder.
Check out the story:

Like the two sign says each one of basement doors on my basement door:
"THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS HOUSE WORTH YOUR LIFE"
"IF YOU ENTER THROUGH THIS DOOR, YOU WILL BE KILLED"

Real sorry to hear of what happened. My 300SE faced a similar encounter where he tried to knife into one of the tyres, scrapped a little of the paint at the boot and rear fender, and made a mark on the chrome handle.

Had most resprayed over except for the chrome handle.

Real @ssholes.

If you take it to a good bodyshop, the color will match just fine. When it comes to bodywork on an expensive car, go for the best bodyshop you can, preferably one that does work on Mercedes, BMW, etc. You won't regret it.

Everything good comes with a price, and this is one task you wouldn't want to pay cheap and get disappointed.
