Theory on radio and windows
My radio and windows stopped working after I jump started my 1994 e320.
The red light on the radio blinks but even when the car is running none of the windows work and the radio will not come on. Everything else works just fine; wipers, lights, interior lights, etc.. The reason the battery was dead was that the radio did not turn off when the car was shutoff and the key taken out. My theory is that the ignition is malfunctioning, the radio and windows don't seem to "know" that the key is on. I visually checked all of the fuses I could find underhood and didn't see any blown fuses. However, the blinking red light on the radio tells me it's got power which makes me wonder if the jump start tripped an anti-theft device for the radio. But that doesn't explain the windows. So perhaps the jump start fried something that was supplying power to the windows and the radio anti-theft device was tripped. Wow, I must be overthinking this. ![]()
