Need Tips and Instructions on how to change a starter on my 420sel
 

I have a 1988 , 420sel and I need to change the started need some tips,advice and instructions on how to do this ? Help

Purty simple. Disconnect negative battery lead. Remove control lead at starter which is phillips or straight slot. Remove B+ connector. Remove two 10mm allen bolts that hold starter in place. Remove starter. Install new starter by reversing operation.

The starter is quite a chore to remove. On my 560SEL, what I had to do was to drop the muffler system and then then take some shield out of the way. This was the only way I could have clearance to remove my starter. Just a heads up, make sure you have a compressor and gun because its a ***** removing them bolts by hand!
