83 380 SL key replacement

I seem to only have 1 key for my 1983 380 SL. What is the simplest way to get a second key made?

If you're sure the car has the original locks you can get replacement keys from the dealer. It's $15-30 depending on the alignment of the planets. Bring you registration papers and ID for proof of ownership. The dealer won't guarantee and probably can't tell if your locks are original.

A good locksmith can copy your key but it won't cost less than the dealer. Bring your car and tell the locksmith up front that you will only pay for a key that works.
