My 1991 M-B 300CE has a shifting problem

My father just gave me this beautiful machine for my birthday, but it has one nagging and dangerous problem. The tranny shifts fine when the car is in motion, but it experiences long delay (about 3-10 seconds) when accelerating after being brought to a stop. I can apply light pressure to the gas pedal or I can floor it. It doesn't matter, the car just waits for a few seconds and then zooms off. What should I do?

Do you know if the tranny is slipping in any gears? Try looking into the tranny vacuum modulator and replace it OR look into the B2 piston set. Change the fluid and filter also

If the delay you describe is the engine not revving rather than the transmission slipping it may due to the oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor should be changed every 60,000 miles. Changing the ozygen sensor on our 1991 300CE dramatically improved acceleration from a stop and eliminated the sluggishness.
