hi i like to know if any one knows why my 400 E starts and runs fine,
but when you drive it the eng goes up and down like its losing fuel. i took it to a shop and the shop owner told me it was the fuel filter. he replaced the filter but it is still doing it. i was told that it was the eng wire harriness, i replaced it (need to any ways) but the same thing. now im told its the mass air flow. can some one help me!!!! lol |

Could be the mass air flow meters, vacum leak, or a throttle actuator.
Try a search on the above items. There's tons in the archives.

What are the fault codes saying? Have them read if you haven't already.

I'd look for a vacuum leak;also I'd clean my carb.I did my harness and all that on my 400. She still acts up sometimes, simple little things seem to help.Is the ASR system being engaged ?

400e
possible mass air flow but doubtful.more likely to be something to do with electronic accelerator.were the adaptions reset after the engine wiring harness replacement done?

92 400e surges
The throttle actuator is a good place to start but don't overlook the fuel pump package, This car has two pumps and when one is going bad the car will run unpredictably.
