Exclamation 1995 C280 Engine wiring harness...

I am working on a 1995 C280 and it was towed in to where I work with a cranks but won't start condition. I checked it in the parking lot before pushing it in the shop and it had no fuel pressure. After raising the vehicle on the lift and removing the plastic cover that hides the fuel pump inside the right rear wheel I found no power to the fuel pump....after letting it down and checking further...suddenly it has fuel pressure and it started. It ran rough to say the least...after further inspection of the black sparkplugs I Replaced them and it still ran rough...acting now like it wasn't running on all 6 cylinders. I confirmed cylinders #1 and #6 were dead...no spark and checking further revealed power on both wires to the coil that fires these 2 cylinders...don't get ahead of me yet...yes the wiring harness was shot...everywhere I looked, the wires were fully exposed and free to touch the wire next to it throughout the entire harness...after installing a new harness (engine side only so far) the car now runs on all 6 cylinders, but now the low oil light stays on, the cooling fans come on and runs constantly, the air conditioner compressor is inoperative, and the turn signals and hazard lights won't work....I have my suspicions about the control unit....$1045.00....please tell me someone has travelled this road before....the smell of roadkill is getting stronger as each day passes.

Check fuses on the K40 relay, that's on the passenger side under the cover in back by the firewall. Other than that, get a wiring schematic, start with the easier stuff first, lights and compressor. Make sure the "EC" light on the climate control panel isn't permenantly "on". Fan=possibly temp sensor not connected on one side? Is the aux fan on high speed or slower speed?

Wiring harness woes...

The entire wiring harness on this car must be insulated with water soluable material....after wiggling and manipulating the rest of the underhood wiring things started working again....to get the turn signals to resume functioning I got mad and smacked the top of the fuse block under the hood....viola!!!! And the radiator fans apparently run until you enter the radio unlock code.....GENIUS those Germans are!!!! If I never see this car again, it will be too soon!!!
