SEC questions
Hi All:
I have two questions to those with 80s SEC-s (particular model is my 1983 380SEC but it is a body question). Do your cars have the plastic inner wheel room covers (what's the proper name?) around the front wheels (mine does not but I suspect these cars had them). Also, is there a plastic piece between the front bumper and the cooler area when you open the hood? Could anyone take a picture of the bumper from top when the hood is open? Thanks, Greg

Greg, I'm not an owner but can verify that 126 chassis as a whole don't have front plastic shields inside the wheel wells, I guess you'd call them wheel well liners or shields. Lots of metal in there, not much plastic, yeah you can see the shocks and springs and stuff just fine.
Not sure where you mean on the other question, like inboard of the headlights or on top of the bumper or???? Can you take a pic and post it of the area in question on your car?? Gilly

Please see attachements on this post; arrows show places with suspected plastic cover pieces.
Thanks, Greg

Yeah I see what you mean, there may be something there, as you suspect it may be specific to the SEC. Aren't those cars cool? I hope maybe an SEC owner may chime in, it doesn't look quite right does it. The area i was generically referring to is in your first pic, up around where the shaft of your arrow goes through, up around the top of the tire and back. On the front (second pic), it almost looks like the center bar (with the single bolt going through it) is bent, but this might noramlly have a cover over it, again an SEC owner would be helpful, or try finding some illustrations out of the electronic parts catalog. Gilly

Just bumping up - I am shure that there are some fellow SEC owners who can help me out here...

No inner fender plastic, what the arrow points to is the fog loght cover.
No cover between the fan and bumper. John |

Does that bar behind the bumper that is bending downwards look correct to you? Kind of "Vee"d down in the middle where that one bolt is. Made that way or bent? Gilly
