How hard it is to replace EGR valve on E320 1995. I have fault code # 5. How expensive is it for part? My mechanic wants $200 to do the job. He will not replce part but wuold rather clean EGR and clean pipe attached to it. I feel it should be replace. Help?

I find it very easy to listen to a mechanic who doesn't want to do something. Replacing the EGR only takes a few minutes and the part is a little over $100 but that's not going to solve the pipe problem common on that model. Try a search on EGR pipe - lots of info.
