High Speed fan runs when cold? 1990 300E
HI, every morning when I start my car, the high speed fan will kick on, and run for 3-5 minutes?? The outside temp is not hot- say between 55-65 F. ( Wisconsin mornings) brrrr. I tried doind a search on fan switches, ect... but all I read is aboutis the switch on the drier/receiver. Where is the coolant temp. switch? and is this what I should check first? I had the coolant flushed about a month ago, and it is to correct levels. Also now, almost every time, when I start the car throughout the day the fan will kick in for about 3 minutes. I cant believe the car is running this hot. The needle on the gauge never exceeds 80C. Also, the A/C switch is never on, I dont run it now. Any thoughts?

When you say "high speed fan", are you referring to the auxillary fan?

Yes the auxilary fan, not the clutch fan.
