Clk 430

I have a 2000 CLK 430. I can start the car. the car would stay running, but when apply gas to it it won't take gas. it seems like the gas pedal does not work. I press the gas pedal it won't do anything while the gas still running. what would be the problem?

this is a fly by wire car[electronic accelerator] the pedal is connected to a large rheostat pot under the hood[next to firewall in front of driver] by a cable.check that all intact.next you are going to need a scanner[mercedes specific]to check adaptions and throttle position.good benz tech should have .

How should the throttle be positioned. I have changed the throtle, gas pedal sensing unit, the airflow meter. it still does the same thing. Would the gas pressure being low could cause that?
