Auto Climate Control – Stupid question / pet peeve

Gentlemen,

Is there a way to have the automatic climate control remain in the “O” off position upon starting the car? It makes me crazy but no matter what position I have it in when I shut the car off, when I turn over the engine it defaults to auto.
