Pin bushing housing.. what is it?

My c43 transmission is leaking. The shop says its the pin bushing housing and wants $300. What it this, where is it, and how bad are they sticking it to me? They just did a tranny fluid swap.. is that something that should have been corrected during the swap? It didnt leak prior to the tranny fluid swap.

The quote says parts $5.75????? the rest is labor and fluid!

Buy part number 203-540-01-53 & install it yourself.

ONLY tools needed are a 7mm socket & ratchet.

It was some sort of electrical connection inside the tranmission they described as a linkage. They just told me they had to drop the pan to get at it. I guess thats where the $300 comes in. I wish they would have done that when they had the pan off for the service!!!!

In American-speak, Mercedes uses "bullet-style" electrical connectors.

Pin bushing housing is their term for the female portion.

A 25-cent part.

thanks all. sounds like $300 is way over the top. 1 hour labor should have been max = $95 -$120 at most. Sigh, I thought I had found a good honest shop to work with. Live and learn. Guess I should start fixing my own stuff again.
