W220 2000 S430 Rear Brake Pad Change?

Hi all, I attempted to change the rear brake pads on my 2000 S430, but can't get the pin out.

I didn't see any brake pad wear sensor for the rear brake... is there suppose to be one?

I tried to hammer the pin out... but no luck... the pointed tip now is almost flat... my ML430 was so much easier...

Any help is appreciated

The S-Class W220 does not have EBC brakes... only in the E-Class... correct me if I'm wrong... I just want to make sure...

How hard do you have to pound the pin out? as I said earlier, the pointed end is already flat... but the pin hasn't moved at all...

Anyone?

I use a 1/8" ? ( it JUST fits in the hole ) centre-punch for removing the pin.
You may want to soak the pin with a little penetrating fluid first.
Make sure you buy new pins ( available at you local M-B dealer for a few cents ).

Never had a problem pounding out the pin. Can you look at the back side of the pin? There is I believe a collar around the other end of the pin which helps hold the pin in place, maybe it is somehow binding in the bore.
EBC I believe (last I knew) was in the W211 E Class and R230 SL Class, they may have added more since then...new G?, new ML? R Class?? Dunno
