SRS light
I purchased a 1998 E320 that had been an accident. Damage was to the right front fender, headlight and bumper. I have restored the car to as new condition. The accident deployed the steering wheel air bag only.I have replaced the clock spring / sensor with a new MB part and the air bag with a MB salvage part.
When I turn on the system the SRS light goes out after a few seconds and then comes back on. The SRS light stays on {does not blink}. My question is, what to do? Is the SRS control module storing a fault code that is keeping the light on? Do I have the SRS control module reprogrammed or replaced. Or do I have to replace another sensor? This seems to like I should be able to solve this problem with some educated advise. I know that I could take it in to the dealer but the dealer in my service area sells MB parts above the MB list price. In any case taking the car into any dealer would be like giving up / throwing in the towel so to speak and that goes against my nature. Thanks in advance to and one kind enough to give me the guidance and advice in am in need of. Don Parker |

bet the computer has stored code from the accident.you need to find someone with scanner [not the generic odb11 kind] or dealer to clear out the codes.unless you think that the nice body shop that did the repairs had the correct scanner and already cleared the codes ha---ha.
