my 722.6 tranny ATF level was at 80C mark when cold..??

before i drained the factory filled old ATF, i used the dipstick to check the fluid level, and i was surprised to find the ATF level all the way up to the 80C mark when the car was cold (parked overnight).

should i refill to 25C mark with new fluid ?? or refill to the exact same level as before? any help appreciated

There is a rule to add the ATF oil . Other words "special tool " to add the oil . 722.6 AT have no ruler like the engine oil rule .

What's the P/N of the dipstick tool you used?

Also, did you just drain the pan or the torque converter as well?

I would fill it to the point where it registers on the dipstick near or below the lower mark. Then run it up to operating temperature and top it off to the 80 degree mark.

Pro, was the engine running when you made this check?
