Sad news, Steve Brotherton's business partner...

Walter Bodendorf recently passed. I just received a letter from Continental Imports in Gainesville Florida, a shop owned by Steve (moderator of this forum) and Walter, giving me the bad news. I dealt with Walter, his wife and Steve of course in the few occasions when I took my car to their shop (60 miles away). They have a very professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff but, still a true family business. I know Walter will be missed...

I am sorry, this is probably not the best place to post this but, I know Steve frequents this forum and has shared so much technical information with all of us that...I feel it is time to, at least for me, share my sympathy in the passing of your friend Walter...

Please feel free to move this post if you think it is not appropriate...

I'm very sorry to hear that.
Our hearts go out to his family, to Steve and everyone at Continental Imports.

I know that most would have no reason, but if you have some time to waste to read about a really fine person go here: www.legacy.com and enter his name: Walter Bodendorf.

He was my partner for 28 years. We first met at the local MB dealer 31 years ago. He was really a special person, who I will miss forever. Thanks for the sentiments! His wife is now my partner and his daughter, son-in-law and nephew are still part of our business as are my wife and brother.

I read about 3 pages of the guestbook in the legacy.com website. It almost brought tears to my eyes reading the comments people who knew him wrote.

He obviously was a kind and gentle soul who touched a lot of people.

I too was not able to read very far into the legacy.com site. It is filled with such strong emotion.

Clearly, Walter Bodendorf was a very fine man who will be missed.
