210 door panel removal/ change check strap
Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if anyone has a diagram to remove the door panel and check strap on the 210. I got a link from a member, but the link is no longer active. If anyone has info on how to change these I would appreciate it. I bought both front door checks. thanks, Floyd in Arizona 1997 E320 |

THREE SCREWS HOLD THE PANEL ON, ONE UNDER THE SRS CLIP (IF YOURS HAS IT), one behind the plastic cover under door release handle and one under a round cover below the door pull handle. remove the plastic cover around the door latch and pop the clips around the edge of the panel holding it to the door and pull upward.
The door check/strap is the metal piece you see between the hinges that hold the door open in one of two positions when it works correctly.

I am going to want to do a check strap replacement on my C-class, does the strap come in primer color? and do people get them painted the body color?

front door check straps
I am replacing the front door check straps. My check straps are not painted body color. I personally will not be getting them painted. I would rather have them just work so the doors do not groan everytime I open and close them.
