I think I've asked this question before, but I'll ask again.
I've got a '92 300SE with the 5-spd AT (722.502).
In "D" from a dead stop, it starts off in 2nd gear. Romp on it and it downshifts to first.
I've tried depressing and holding the kickdown switch but that doesn't do anything.
Is there ANY way to get a first gear start out of this transmission without foot-to-the-floor?
I think I read that downshifting to 2 will allow 1st gear start, but I don't want a solution that requires constant shifter slinging - I want a permanent "automatic" solution".
I've read somewhere that it takes modifiying the valve body - fine - what modifications are necessary - and what are the ramifications thereof?
Thanks as always!
