No.

It's an OBD II car so you should be able to identify the general fault codes with a basic code reader.

i just solved my check engine light on 2000ML 320 10 days ago thanks to all the guys on this fourm, i cleaned the EGR tube it was 40% clogged and the light is gone the car drives much better.
