I have serious doubts about a one size fits all transmission fluid. Mercon V should have entirely different properties than Dexron (more sticky).

I took the wife's Lincoln in for transmission fluid and filter (requires Mercon V). I specifically confirmed that they would use Mercon V. When we got the car back, it had the classic Ford torque coverter chatter. I took it back and asked what fluid they had used, and, sure 'nuff, it was Pennzoil multi vehicle fluid. Went to the Ford dealer and got some real McCoy Mercon V, and, problem solved immediately.

I have a feeling it might work better in a Dexron application though.
